Manage a translation (page)

 

To note: You have to stay in the "Page" mode..

 

 
1. Create your page / content in English (language by default), save and close it.

2. To be able to translate the page in another language, click on the drop-down menu at the top of window and select "Languages".

3. Then, in the menu "Make new translation of this page", choose your language in the list.

 

 

4. The main data which you have to complete are :

> The field "Page Title" in the tab "General". Watch Tuto "Create new page, Edit page properties & add a web content (text, images and link)"

> The field "Abstract" (= Page description), in the tab "Metadata".

> The field "Image d’en-tête" in the tab "A classer".

 

5. Save your modifications and close it  .

6. At this step, your page is translated (page properties), but not the content (blocks). Thus, you have to translate the blocks which are in your page. Watch Tuto "Manage a translation (Translate the blocks)"

Manage a translation (news)

 

To note: You have to stay in the "List" mode.


 
1. Create your content in English (language by default), save and close it.

2. Verify that you have the option "Localization view" marked at the bottom of page to show up the flags of languages. 


   

3. Click on the flag corresponding to the translation that you want to add, and go to step 5.

 

4.If the flag of the country which you are looking for your translation doesn't appear, it means it is not available, thus it is necessary to add it. So, above, in the item "Alternative Page Language" click on "New Record"  .

 

 

Then, you have to complete two fields in the tab "General" :

>Page -> Language : Choose the language that you want to add among the proposed list.

>Title -> Page Title : Here, name your content which is translated in the language that you want.

Example : To translate "News" in German, put "Nachricht".


Once the language that you want was added, you can click on the flag of the country which interest you to translate your content.

 

5. For each field, you have to replace the content by default with your translated content. Under each field is displayed in a grey frame the value/content in language by default (English).

Once the translation was ended, save your content. Watch Tuto "Save a content" 

 

6.To change a language to another one, you can click on the drop-down menu "Language" at the top of window and then select a language. It is important to know : if the translation was not created yet, it is possible to create it directly via this menu [NEW].

Manage a translation (blocks)

 

To note : You have to stay in the "Page" mode.

 

 
1. To translate the content of the page (blocks), click on the field "Copy default content elements". The contents in language by default are going to be copied in the new language to allow you to translate them. At this moment, these new blocks are hidden, they do not appear online.

Here an example with "Deutsch" (German).

 

 

2. Then click on the "Edit" button  of the translated block [Translated to Deutsch] to reach the content to translate.

 

3. For each field, you have to replace the content by default with your translated content. Under each field is displayed in a grey frame the value/content in language by default (English) to help you. Save your block once the translation was finished.

 

 

4. You have to show up the block online by activating it, then you can choose between two proposals :

>Black frame : By clicking on the Bulb button "Unhide"  .  

>Red frames : By clicking on the Forbidden button  then select "Unhide" in the drop-down menu.

The block is now visible.
